Glucose, Random Urine

The Glucose, Random Urine test measures the concentration of glucose in a urine sample collected at any time, regardless of the last meal. This test is primarily used to screen for hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and to aid in the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus or renal glycosuria, a condition where glucose appears in urine due to kidney dysfunction. In a healthy individual, glucose is typically reabsorbed by the kidneys, resulting in little to no glucose in the urine.
