Epstein-Barr Early Antigen (EA) IgG is a laboratory test that detects the presence of IgG antibodies to the early antigen of the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). EBV is a common virus associated with infectious mononucleosis and can also contribute to various other health issues, including certain cancers. The presence of EA IgG antibodies indicates a past or ongoing infection with EBV, typically occurring during the early stages of the viral infection.
