Deamidated Gliadin Peptide IgA

Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) IgA is a blood test used to detect IgA antibodies to deamidated gliadin peptides, which are proteins found in gluten. This test is commonly used to help diagnose celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder in which the ingestion of gluten triggers an immune response that damages the small intestine. A positive result for DGP IgA antibodies suggests an immune reaction to gluten, which is often associated with celiac disease. It is particularly useful in cases where other celiac markers, such as tissue transglutaminase (tTG) antibodies, are inconclusive or negative. This test can also help monitor adherence to a gluten-free diet in individuals already diagnosed with celiac disease.
