Clozapine is a blood test that measures the level of clozapine, an antipsychotic medication used primarily to treat schizophrenia, especially in patients who have not responded to other treatments. Monitoring clozapine levels is essential for ensuring therapeutic effectiveness while minimizing the risk of side effects, such as seizures, sedation, or agranulocytosis (a potentially severe reduction in white blood cells).
