Syphilis Ab IgG, w/Reflex to RPR

The Syphilis Ab IgG test detects the presence of IgG antibodies against the bacteria Treponema pallidum, which causes syphilis. This test is typically performed as an initial screening for syphilis. If the IgG antibodies are detected, a reflex test for the Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR) may be performed. The RPR test is a non-treponemal test used to confirm the diagnosis and assess disease activity.
