T4, Free

The Free T4 test measures the level of free thyroxine (T4) in the blood. T4 is a primary hormone produced by the thyroid gland and plays a vital role in regulating metabolism, growth, and development. Unlike total T4, which includes both bound and unbound forms of the hormone, the free T4 test specifically assesses the unbound (active) form available to tissues.
