Non-HDL Cholesterol

Non-HDL cholesterol is a measure of all the cholesterol in the blood that is not part of high-density lipoprotein (HDL). This includes low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol, and other lipid particles. Non-HDL cholesterol is considered a better predictor of cardiovascular risk than total cholesterol alone, as it encompasses all potentially atherogenic lipoproteins. High levels of non-HDL cholesterol indicate an increased risk of heart disease and related conditions.
