NT-proBNP

N-terminal pro b-type Natriuretic Peptide (NT-proBNP) is a biomarker released by the heart in response to increased pressure and volume overload, typically associated with heart failure. It is a fragment of the prohormone BNP (b-type Natriuretic Peptide) and serves as an important indicator of cardiac function. Elevated levels of NT-proBNP in the blood suggest the presence of heart failure or other cardiac conditions and can help differentiate cardiac-related symptoms from other causes.
